Paul's Progress

[ Support Home Page | Aplastic Anemia | Progress Log ]

This website will highlight Paul's treatment progress with Aplastic Anemia, which he was diagnosed with on May 11, 2004 (though his blood tests on May 6 revealed pancytopenia). Hopefully this will keep friends and family up-to-date with the latest.

Aplastic Anemia: Background and Information

Since AA is such a rare disorder, many people have never heard of it. The link below will give you some background, as well as more recent information I've gleaned from medical journals.

Alternative Treatment Options

Some of you have recommended that I try alternative therapies (herbal, TCM, etc.) to supplement my current I'm not permitted to experiment while I am undergoing my present immunosuppressive therapy. However, please feel free to suggest information, herbs, etc. that you come across that may have bearing on AA, and auto-immune diseases in general. I'm open-minded but I have read a lot of quacky and wacky ideas out there, so please don't just do a Google search and list off sites for me blindly. Explain why you think your suggestion might help; giving anecdotal evidence is OK, but citing hard-core research is preferred.

So, I wecome your suggestions (books, websites, herbs, etc.) but FIRST, please read up a bit on Aplastic Anemia so you have some understanding of my disorder!

Give me your suggestions!
